About

About Me

Hi, and welcome to my brain. I’m Bryan M. Turner and I’m not a chef, sociologist, singer or evangelist. Or British, British, Tennessean or Floridian for that matter. I can cook pretty well, I contemplate my navel almost all the time, I don’t know if my voice is performance-ready and I do know the Lord. I usually ask Him all the time what He has planned for me in this ball of existence. I’ve drawing characters and planning storylines for various series ever since elementary school, so I’m studying to becoming a media producer at the University of Houston. I hoping someday, I can put my name out there for other Bryan/Brian Turners to be compared to.

But for now, I am just a guy with a blog. Which by the way, thanks for reading, you person, you. I hope I made you laugh with that.

About This Site

Like anyone who had gotten into web development as a hobby, this has been a long time coming. From the days when my Texas History teacher first taught me how to code to my first page made with Frontpage on AT&T, I have grown to love making websites.

I created Ashes of Astroworld to showcase my writing, artwork and designs, basically a portfolio. I’m currently developing a couple of webcomics including some fanfiction and original works. I’m not the best artist around these parts but the say the best way to improve is to keep on drawing and learning new things. The same goes for narrative works. I also like to review movies, TV shows and the occasional sporting event or two. I love watching my Astros, Rockets, Texans and Dynamo in action.

And The Name

Oh yeah, and the name. When I started making websites (but before I published), I had a some some stuff on the hard drive named “Blue Brother’s Warpzone” which was mainly dedicated to anime shows. When I started publishing, it got renamed Astrodome Mezzanine or A-Dome Mezz for short and became a online blog. It got named after the Dome which had the Astros moving out in 1999 and WrestleMania X-Seven two years later. When I got my hands on first domain, I figured A-Dome Mezz was a bit silly. So when AstroWorld closed in 2005, I decided to honor its memory with a new name.

I hope everyone has a fun time here in Ashes of Astroworld and if you want me for anything (maybe even a little commission), contact me.
